I have taught hundreds of students in one-on-one private lessons and in group and school settings in Australia, New Zealand and the UK.
My teaching is informed by many thousands of gig hours performed over a three decade plus career. I began as a guitarist and singer in several working original and cover bands while in high school. Since then I have performed as a solo instrumental guitarist at weddings, corporate and private functions and events all over the world.
My aim as a guitar teacher is to transmit the very best of the wisdom and practical advice I received from my teachers as well as offer insights gained from my own lifetime as a working musician.
I majored in classical guitar performance for my Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Auckland. I also studied Flamenco guitar with maestro Gareth Koch at the Conservatorium of Music in Newcastle, NSW.
My degree minor is music education. My second instrument is flute. I also received a Diploma in Contemporary Music from JMC Academy in Sydney.
